Head of Tutorial Programs

University of Memphis- BS in Education and minor in Art. Loves working along side her sister, Sherri Spain, in fulfilling the Bowie dream created by her father and brother, over 20 years ago. Outside of Bowie, she is more than likely to be enjoying family and the joys of having two granddaughters.

Allie Chester

Assistant to the Head of Tutorial Programs

Harding University - BA in Bible and Family Ministry. Allie is a native Memphian and currently lives in Midtown. She loves good coffee, spending time with friends, and live music. Most of her free time is spent hanging out with her greyhound, Mia.

Her favorite hobby is napping, though she also enjoys reading novels and geocaching when the weather is nice.

Nick Brackley

Missouri University of Science and Technology- BS in Aerospace Engineering

Nick has spent three years as an educator and three as a classroom teacher. He's tutored privately and for three different companies. He loves teaching science and bringing ideas to life. He has a life-long passion for space exploration and sports.

John Brandon

Florida Atlantic University- BS in Marine Biology

I am a Florida native and love the ocean and marine life in general. Back in Florida, I was lucky enough to work on a treasure hunting boat for a few summers. Since then I have become incredibly passionate about helping people learn math and sciences. In my spare time, I love playing ultimate frisbee and pingpong, as well as my guitar.

Kristen Bergstein

She’s originally from Pittsburgh and loves to read in her free time, especially with her kitten, Gus, on her lap.

Nettie Ciaramitaro

Arkansas Tech University- BS in Psychology; Pursuing Master's in Educational Leadership

She's a part of a soul and R&B band called "The Players" and a jazz/funk band called "Outer Ring". The band has played for the cast of "The Help". She's a huge fan of Memphis music, including: Hi Records, Stax, and Royal Studios. She loves to sing, play guitar, paint, and write music.

My three favorite hobbies include watching and playing baseball, going bird watching at Shelby Farms or Shelby Forest, and playing board games with my friends and family.

Suzanne Harvey

University of Mississippi - BA in English Education; Currently pursuing a Masters in English Literature at the University of Memphis.

Her senior year she played the role of "Sharpay" in High School Musical, and Disney invited their cast to go to Disney World and perform their show on one of their stages.

Lindsay Helms

University of Memphis- BA in English/Creative Writing and Romance Languages/Spanish, MA in Romance Languages/Spanish and Portuguese; working on PhD in Applied Linguistics

I love to travel. I have traveled to five continents and nine countries. I speak Spanish and Portuguese. I love to get outside. My husband and I are avid kayakers and hikers. I also enjoy reading, writing and spending time with my two huskies, Che and Nena.

Kiah is a native Tennessean who loves to read, travel, listen to music, bike, play board games, and spend time with friends and family. One of her favorite things is forming deep relationships with new people, and she also loves a good nap.

I am a Memphis Native who attended Harding Academy for 15 years (Class of 2016). I've travelled to France, Italy, Greece, Honduras, Italy, and England. Outside of work, I spend the majority of my time teaching vocal lessons or walking my dogs at Shelby Farms.

I am from Atlanta, Georgia and enjoy watching GA football, reading a good book and listening to podcasts. I also minored in Studio Art and love going to galleries or small art festivals in my free time.

I enjoy working out at the gym or outdoors. I am a county music lover. I was a 2012 summer Olympian for my native country Burkina Faso. French is my first language.

Isabel Lievens

Pursuing degree in Early Childhood Education

I love all things art. I enjoy painting, drawing, doodling, and photography. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat, 5 horses, 2 donkeys, 8 chickens and a pig- needless to say, I live in the country. I love the outdoors and could spend hours on my dock reading classic books.

Bridget McAdam

After serving as a primary school teacher both home and abroad for 6 years, I returned to school last year to become a registered dietitian and eventually pursue a graduate degree in public health. When I’m not studying, I’m a long-distance runner, having completed 4 marathons and 1 ultramarathon. Outside of running, I’m a big fan of soccer and Korean popular culture!

By day, I write incredibly large reports on medical devices so the companies can sell their devices in Europe. By night, other than tutoring at Bowie, I also teach an Anatomy & Physiology Class at ASU-Midsouth in Arkansas. I enjoy filling my time meeting new people and helping them learn about science and math! During my free time, I enjoy making my way through the Memphis food scene and traveling as much as I can!

I love to read; the very first novel I remember reading by myself was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I'm also a massive Real Madrid soccer fan and like to watch all of the major European leagues.

I was born in Louisiana and moved to Memphis in 2010 after stops in Missouri and Florida. I quickly came to love the city and, after living here longer than anywhere else, consider myself a Memphian. I enjoy reading, writing, learning history (especially early Christianity and medieval Europe), spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Grizzlies or LSU Tigers.

Outside of work and class I enjoy kayaking, hiking, and reading (a lot). You'll never find me without a book. I also have a not so secret obsession with orcas, so I follow a lot of whale watch groups and read up on the latest developments from my favorite pods.

Amanda Soukup

I’m originally from Chicago, IL, but moved to Memphis a year ago for school! I enjoy rock climbing and bouldering at Memphis Rox. I love it because it is a great escape from the stress of school and a fun way to hangout with friends. I have a cat named Bologna that I absolutely adore. Other interests of mine involve environmental sustainability, so I started composting at home and plan to reuse my old candle jars by making my own candles.

Susan Thomas

University of Tennessee- BA in Political Science; Covenant Theological Seminary- Masters of Divinity.

She grew up in Memphis and moved back after 20 years in St. Louis. She specialized in educational leadership at seminary and has led several mission groups abroad. She also edits dissertations for doctoral students, writes spoken word poetry, and cheers for the Cardinals.

She's an aspiring writer currently looking for a literary agent to represent her completed novels. She grows hot peppers to make hot sauce and infused oil and honey.
