Molly Bowie Cook

Head of Tutorial Programs

University of Memphis- BS in Education and minor in Art. Loves working along side her sister, Sherri Spain, in fulfilling the Bowie dream created by her father and brother, 20 years ago. Outside of Bowie, she is more than likely to be enjoying family and the joys of having two granddaughters.

Susan Thomas

Assistant to the Head of Tutorial Programs

University of Tennessee- BA in Political Science; Covenant Theological Seminary- Masters of Divinity. She grew up in Memphis and moved back after 20 years in St. Louis. She specialized in educational leadership at seminary and has led several mission groups abroad. She also edits dissertations for doctoral students, writes spoken word poetry, and cheers for the Cardinals.

Mohamed Almaisari

University of Michigan (Flint) - BA in Psychology; Lincoln Memorial University - MS in Biomedical Professions

Mohamed was born in Detroit and later moved to Hamtramck. Being from Detroit, he loves cars -- working on them and making modifications. He also enjoys biking on the weekends and hiking several times a year.

Sarah Appleton

University of Tennessee- BA in Political Science; University of Memphis- Doctor of Jurisprudence

Her favorite hobby is napping, though she also enjoys reading novels and geocaching when the weather is nice.

Kristen Bergstein

University of Memphis - BA in Elementary Education

She’s originally from Pittsburgh and loves to read in her free time, especially with her kitten, Gus, on her lap.

Ashley Berry

Central Michigan University -- BS in Biomedical Sciences; Southern College of Optometry -- pursuing doctorate in optometry

Ashley enjoys long distance running, at times training for half-marathons. She always has a bag of M&Ms with her, and one day, she'd like to learn another language.

Heather Blount

University of Tennessee-BA and MS in Elementary Education K-8, minoring in Psychology

She's a fan of college football and cheers most for the Tennessee Vols. Her favorite color is pink, and she likes to watch crime shows and collect rabbit figurines.

Kim Brown

University of Memphis- BS In Elementary Education (K-6)

She loves to worship God, spend time with family, teach, and participate in creative and performing arts.

Jocelyn Busby

Davidson College -- BA in French; Sewanee School of Theology -- Certificate in Education for Ministry

She most enjoys being outside and hiking with her dogs, jogging, or simply relaxing.

Claudia Carlton

University of Memphis- BA in Professional Studies with a Minor in Spanish

Her ultimate dream in life is to become a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. Not as the professional dancer, but as the star. She's not sure how she will become famous enough to do that, but she likes to dream big. Also on a more serious note, she is bilingual and graduated college a semester early.

Robbie Davis

He studied in the Czech Republic and Germany. He loves to read and play guitar.

Andrew Gafford

University of Memphis- BA in Communications/Concentration in Film and Video Production; Currently seeking BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Memphis

His hobbies include playing and watching basketball (Go Spurs, Go!), playing board games, backpacking, and spending time with his family.

Rachel Hart

University of Tennessee Knoxville -- B.S. in Food Science and Technology

Rachel enjoys several musical pursuits: singing, piano, guitar, and theater. She also loves dogs of all kinds.

Suzanne Harvey

University of Mississippi - BA in English Education; Currently pursuing a Masters in English Literature at the University of Memphis.

Her senior year she played the role of "Sharpay" in High School Musical, and Disney invited their cast to go to Disney World and perform their show on one of their stages.

Emma Jansen

Harding University-BA in Early Childhood and Middle Level Math and Science Education

She loves to bake, anything from chocolate chip cookies to decorated sugar cookies, to cakes and pies. One of her personal goals is to read 20,000 pages per year in books she enjoys, and she's achieved that every year since 2015.

Enjoys reading fiction and writing about Memphis music.

Zeryab Khan

Emory University -- BA in Chemistry; Lincoln Memorial University -- MS in Anatomical Sciences

As a native Hoosier, Zeryab enjoys playing and watching basketball. He also likes outdoor activities, especially biking trails with his friends every weekend.

Gil Maneclang

Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS- BBA in Finance and Minor in History; Currently pursuing a MAT degree at University of Memphis

Loves MS state football, playing disc golf, hiking with his wife Anna, and walking his dogs through Shelby Farms.

Laura McMann

Michigan State University -- B.S. in Advertising Management; with a minor in Public Relations

Laura lived in Rome, Italy for a semester and was able to visit 20 European cities. Her favorites were Rome and London. She's currently studying for the LSAT and takes study breaks with her dog Baxter.

Rob Moore

University of Memphis - BA in Political Science and Journalism; MA in English Literature

Rob is either working, spending time with his dogs, or participating in political activism. He volunteers as a deputy county registrar, and one of his favorite activities is registering new voters.

Kate Murphy

Rhodes College- B.S. in Biology; University of Memphis- currently pursuing a M.A. in Literature

Collects cozy blankets, hardback books, and fashionable school supplies.

Doug Nanney

University of Memphis- BA, Political Science; MA, Political Science/Public Administration

If there isn't a college football game or a classic movie on, he enjoys reading a good whodunnit mystery.

Josh Nave

Lee University- BA in Spanish and Communicates; Louisiana State University- MA in Hispanic Studies

He's visited 13 countries! He also traveled through central and southern Mexico for a summer Fulbright-Hays project, and he lived in Madrid, Spain for two years where he taught at a bilingual elementary school. He currently works as a university Spanish instructor.

Aaron Nichols

University of Memphis- BA in Foreign Languages (Spanish/French); minor in Communications

He likes to run, take his bike out on the green line, and watch movies.

Joanna Orozco

University of Memphis and Universidad Internacional Menendez Pelayo (Spain)- BA in Foreign Languages and Literature (Spanish)

She traveled across much of America and between Mexico and the United States as a child. Her studies took her to Mexico, as well as Barcelona, Spain, and she knows bits of French and Korean as well as English and Spanish. She plans to teach at the university level once she has completed her studies.

Nettie Parr

Arkansas Tech University- BS in Psychology; Pursuing Master's in Educational Leadership

She's a part of a soul and R&B band called "The Players" and a jazz/funk band called "Outer Ring". The band has played for the cast of "The Help". She's a huge fan of Memphis music, including: Hi Records, Stax, and Royal Studios. She loves to sing, play guitar, paint, and write music.

Jason Rice

University of Memphis- BA in English and Creative Writing

Before beginning his teaching career at the Bowie Center, he played music on Beale Street. He still plays music regularly with Faux Killas, an original rock and roll band here in town. He also very much enjoys spending time with his niece and nephew!

Laura Rice

She is an aspiring gardener, a lover of birds, and has a weakness for karaoke. Her perfect weekend would include camping or fishing with her husband and son, relaxing by a campfire.

Meredith Serna

University of Memphis- BFA in Theatre with a concentration in Scenic Design and Technology

She enjoys making wedding cakes, playing piano, and going to the gym. She loves her Clemson Tigers! She also loves history and reads constantly.

Kelsey Sullivan

Memphis College of Art- BFA focusing in illustration and drawing; minor in art history.

Spends quiet weekends at home painting and drawing while her bunny runs around the house.

She's an aspiring writer currently looking for a literary agent to represent her completed novels. She grows hot peppers to make hot sauce and infused oil and honey.

Caroline Tomlinson

Harding University- B.S. Mathematics, minor in Bible; Freed Hardeman University- M.Ed. Education

Enjoys the outdoors, knitting, sports, gardening (flowers are her passion), reading, photography, cooking, sewing, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her five children, loving husband, and her many friends.

DeAnna Wallace

Harding University- BA in Spanish, English; Currently pursuing MA in Spanish at the University of Memphis

She has traveled to Peru, Macchu Picchu, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Prague, and Czech Republic. She used to play the tuba and alto saxophone.

LaDayne Williamson

Huntingdon College- BA in Psychology and Sociology; Judson University- Elementary Education

Being raised in the South, she spends her Sundays worshipping the Lord and Saturdays watching college football. Whenever football is over, she loves to read and pretend to quilt. Roll Tide and Hail State!

Halle Wright

University of Memphis- BA in Spanish; Currently pursuing an MA in Spanish

She loves to travel. She's studied in Spain and Nicaragua. She's also traveled to six countries and counting!
