University of Memphis- BS in Education and minor in Art. Loves working alongside her sister, Sherri Spain, in fulfilling the Bowie dream created by her father and brother over 20 years ago. Outside of Bowie, she is more than likely to be enjoying family and the joys of having two granddaughters.

Alexis Wright

Assistant to the Head of Tutorial Programs

University of Memphis- BS in Health Science with a minor in Biology. I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Clinical Biology at Barry University. I love to travel, eat at new restaurants, and spend time with my family. I also enjoy engaging with the youth in my community.

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and have enjoyed 12 wonderful years at Bowie. My favorite activity is dancing with my two daughters: Brindley (8), Lyla (5), and my husband when he is willing. I am a diehard Memphis Tiger fan, and am team Penny all the way. Jane Austen and Lucille Ball are two of my closest confidants. I love to read, but you can often find me with my two pups or scaling rock faces at the climbing gym with my family in our spare time.

Sarah Appleton

My favorite hobby is napping, though I also enjoy reading novels and geocaching when the weather is nice.

Francis Arnan

I have a bachelor's in health science from the University of Florida and I am currently an O.D candidate at Southern College of Optometry, class of 2026.

Outside of school, I'm into everything music/performance related! I love singing, dancing, and playing piano, and I have a history f playing violin, double bass, ukelele, and flute. Other than that, I'm also into plant care and playing with my beautiful birds Vinnie and Terry.

Elizabeth Beers

Ohio State University- BS in Psychology, Minor in Music; Southern College of Optometry- O.D. Candidate, Class of 2025

Outside of school and music, I love cooking, eating, and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops in the area. Currently, I am improving my rock-climbing skills at Memphis Rox. If you have any climbing tips, I need all the help I can get!

In addition to working with students, I love playing, writing, recording, and performing music. I have incredible and supportive parents as well as two impressive siblings: an older brother and younger sister. I am grateful to be joining the Bowie Tutoring company!

Kristen Bergstein

I'm originally from Pittsburgh and love to read in my free time, especially with my kitten, Gus, on my lap.

Nettie Ciaramitaro

Arkansas Tech University- BS in Psychology; Masters in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech

I'm a part of a soul and R&B band called "The Players" and a jazz/funk band called "Outer Ring". The band has played for the cast of "The Help". I'm a huge fan of Memphis music, including: Hi Records, Stax, and Royal Studios. I love to sing, play guitar, paint, and write music.

I have a bachelors in biology with a minor in chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College. I am currently a student at the Southern College of Optometry graduating this coming May 2023.

Outside of work and school I enjoy jogging, spending time outdoors, playing with my dog, and reading.

My three favorite hobbies include watching and playing baseball, going bird watching at Shelby Farms or Shelby Forest, and playing board games with my friends and family.

Laura Gordon

University of Colorado Boulder BA in Sociology, minor in Education University of Memphis M.A.T. in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership, concentration in Elementary Education

I'm a licensed teacher with a passion for youth empowerment, mental health advocacy, and educational reform. My long-term career goals include pursuing a doctoral degree in school psychology and working as a licensed mental health professional. I'm an avid reader and a devoted plant mom! Some of my other hobbies include swimming, roller blading, hiking, and organizing. I love Netflix, iced coffee, reality tv, pop culture, and true crime.

Laura Beth Halbert

University of Memphis with a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education

I have been coaching or teaching my entire adult life. In addition to my passion for helping educate young children, I am an an avid animal lover. I have two cats (and many more in heaven) who are my babies. My favorite pastime is playing pool online. I’ve been playing this game since 2001 and although, being average at best, I thoroughly enjoy competing in the weekly online tournaments with my team.

My senior year I played the role of "Sharpay" in High School Musical, and Disney invited the cast to go to Disney World and perform the show on one of their stages.

I have a B.S. in Biology from Texas A&M University, and I currently attend the Southern College of Optometry, O.D. Candidate Class of 2025.

Outside of class, I enjoy watching TV shows on Netflix, playing board games with friends, and exploring the city of Memphis. I also love rock climbing and recently started pilates!

I am from Atlanta, Georgia and enjoy watching GA football, reading a good book, and listening to podcasts. I also minored in Studio Art and love going to galleries or small art festivals in my free time.

I love to read and learn new things every day and challenge myself to expand my current knowledge and skills. When not at work, I enjoy baking and experimenting with new tea combinations to drink on my balcony.

Caitlin McGregor

I basically live in a zoo. Caleb and I have a German Shepherd (Midas), a Deagal (Dachshund/Beagle) (Bean), two black cats (Indigo and Sarabi), an orange kitten (Chetto Puff), a calico kitten (Kitty), a bearded dragon (Rango), a snake (Mr. Dangernoodle), and three guinea pigs.

Leslie Pace

By day, I write incredibly large reports on medical devices so the companies can sell their devices in Europe. By night, other than tutoring at Bowie, I also teach an Anatomy & Physiology Class at ASU-Midsouth in Arkansas. I enjoy filling my time meeting new people and helping them learn about science and math! During my free time, I enjoy making my way through the Memphis food scene and traveling as much as I can!

I currently work during the day as the Cafeteria Director at Friendship Christian Academy. In the afternoons, I tutor English, Math, and Science at Bowie. In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and son. Our favorite place at the moment is the Memphis Zoo!

Ali Watson

University of Memphis- MAT in Elementary Education. University of Tennessee, Knoxville- currently working on coursework to receive a Special Education endorsement.

I’m a licebsed K-6 teacher, mom of three, and recently became a licensed foster parent. My passion is supporting children to reach their goals through my knowledge of child development and social emotional learning. When I’m not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy working on our hobby farm.
